Fast growing professional Internet development company seeks qualified candidates to develop, support and maintain existing and new business presence and e-commerce websites. Minimum of three or more years' experience required. Ideal candidate can demonstrate experience designing all aspects of 15-30 websites in the past demonstrating a wide variety of website models. Experience with general Internet web server and email troubleshooting, a plus. Experience with Microsoft and/or UNIX applications a must which would include a combination of proficient experience with HTML, JavaScript, PHP, PERL, XML, ASP, .NET, Access, SQL, and/or MySQL.

Please supply URL's of past work, with an explanation of your part in the creative process, and please note this position is onsite in the Hampton Roads, VA area; no telecommuters or design firms need apply.

The position offers a competitive salary between $32,000 and $50000 annually to start, depending on experience, and a career opportunity in a promote-from-within and "drama-free" work environment.

• Ability to design following the industry's latest professional web design standards - focus on aesthetics as much as user-interface, information architecture, and usability.
• Ability to hand-code HTML.
• Ability to design and code with CSS.
• Ability to handle 4-6 projects monthly and meet deadlines.
• Ability to design for cross-platform and cross-browser compatibility.
• Ability to research and develop professional quality copy or content.
• Ability to design with an understanding of the business and sense of commercial and competitive considerations.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with clients as the main point of contact.
• Ability to work under pressure, allocate time efficiently, take direction, and give feedback in a constructive manner.

Other skills considered a plus:

• Proficient knowledge working with Joomla CMS and OSCommerce shopping cart.
• Intermediate skills both designing and developing in Flash or Swish with ActionScripting.
• Familiarity with designing for and within a database or content management system.
• Basic understanding of Search Engine design requirements for effective indexing.
